Technical Specifics

With a combined experience of over 50 years of creating images, the staff at IlluminArts takes great pride in an uncompromising level of technical excellence.  We work in an unobtrusive and relaxed manner that allows you to look and feel great while being photgraphed.

The number one technical question that we are asked is whether we shoot film or digital.  The answer is, we do both.  The second question then asked is, how do you choose?  You get to choose and we'll help in determining which style is the best for your needs.  For those who want both, we recommend shooting in film and having our pro lab make high resolution scans from your negatives.

Over the years, we've noticed that our clients want flexibility and artistry combined.  Whether one chooses film or digital, any image is available in color, black and white, or sepia tone.

Which ever style you choose, we use both film and digital SLR Nikon bodies mixed with a variety of high end Nikon lenses.  In some cases we use a Hasselblad medium format camera.  Additionally, we use strobe lighting to enhance the look of an interior location or create beautiful lighting for our exterior portraits.  This gives us flexibility and a guarantee that there will always be plenty of light.

Often we are asked who owns the material?  You do.  We feel strongly that you should own the negatives or original RAW digital files from your wedding.  This allows you to use the material in any way that suits your needs.

It takes us 15 business days to deliver your photographic materials to you.  We do this in a final meeting or we Fed Ex the material to our out of town clients.
